Installing and using MySQL+PHP+automysqlbackup

How-To documentation:

apt-get install -y mysql-server mysql-client php5-mysql libmysql-ruby phpmyadmin

lighty-enable-mod fastcgi lighty-enable-mod fastcgi-php

lighty-enable-mod fastcgi-php

It will prompt you for the New password for MySQL "root" user. Enter a password, or do when the installation is finished:

mysqladmin -u root -h localhost password 'mypassword'
mysqladmin -u root -h myhostname password 'mypassword'

Post Installation

Now we want MySQL available to PHP and Ruby.

apt-get install -y php5-mysql libmysql-ruby

Additionally, install the following for mediawiki support and other support.

apt-get install -y php-apc php5-curl libcurl4-gnutls-dev libxml2 libxml2-dev php5-dev

Fire up MySQL

Access the MySQL database using:

mysql -u root -p

Install automysqlbackup

apt-get install -y automysqlbackup
